Terms of Use
Last updated ·
These terms describe how you may use Macros and what you can expect from us. Macros is operated by Cass Technologies LTD.
Read our Privacy Policy for details of how we handle personal information. You can reach us at support@macrosapp.co.uk.
1. Using Macros
Macros is a meal and nutrition diary. It lets you record meals, estimate calories and macronutrients, set targets and share selected progress with friends. These terms cover the Macros app and macrosapp.co.uk. You must be at least 18 to use the app.
Some features may be offered as a beta or preview. We may improve, replace or retire features as development continues, while respecting any paid access and legal rights you already have.
2. Nutrition estimates
Meal analysis, portion sizes, calorie targets and nutrition information are estimates. Photo analysis and automated suggestions can misidentify foods or produce inaccurate results. Check the food, quantity and nutrition details before relying on them, and edit your diary when needed.
Macros is a general tracking tool. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent illness, provide medical advice or replace advice from a qualified health professional. Its estimates should not be used to make decisions about allergies, medication or a medical diet. Seek appropriate professional advice about your individual dietary or health needs.
3. Your account
Use accurate account information and protect the phone number and device you use to sign in. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. If access appears compromised, contact support@macrosapp.co.uk promptly.
Use the service lawfully. Do not interfere with its operation, evade access restrictions, impersonate anyone or attempt to access another person’s account or private information.
4. Your content and Friends
You keep the rights you hold in the photos, descriptions and other content you submit. You give us permission to store, process and display that content as necessary to operate the features you choose. Submit only material you have permission to use, and respect other people’s privacy.
When you use Friends, accepted friends can see the daily totals, goals and check-ins described in the app. They cannot see your meal photos or descriptions through Friends. Think about what you choose to share. Our Privacy Policy explains the data involved.
5. Subscriptions and trials
Where access requires a subscription, the price, billing period and any eligible trial or offer are shown before purchase. Purchases made through Apple are billed by Apple and follow the applicable App Store payment terms. A renewing subscription continues until cancelled through your Apple subscription settings.
If you do not want a free or discounted trial to renew, Apple advises cancelling at least 24 hours before it ends. Offer eligibility, expiry and renewal conditions are shown with the offer; a non-renewing offer does not itself authorise a new paid subscription.
Removing the app or deleting a Macros account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage cancellation in your Apple account settings. Refund requests for App Store purchases can be made through Apple, subject to the rights and rules that apply to your purchase.
6. Stopping use and deleting an account
You can stop using Macros whenever you choose. The Delete account control in the app removes your account and associated data as described in the Privacy Policy. If you cannot access that control, contact support@macrosapp.co.uk.
We may limit or suspend access when needed to address misuse, protect the service or meet a legal obligation. Where practical and appropriate, we will explain the reason and provide a way to contact us about the decision.
7. Our responsibility
We aim to provide Macros with reasonable care and skill. We cannot guarantee that every estimate will be correct, that the app will meet every individual need, or that access will always be uninterrupted. We will take reasonable steps to address problems brought to our attention.
These terms do not remove your statutory consumer rights. They do not exclude responsibility for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude. Our responsibility for other loss is determined by the law that applies to your use of the service.
8. Updates to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes to the service, legal requirements or how we operate. The date at the top identifies the current version. We will give appropriate notice of significant changes. Updated terms will not retrospectively remove rights you have already acquired.
