Macros is operated by Cass Technologies LTD, the data controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at support@macrosapp.co.uk. Our registered company details are set out below.

We use your phone number to sign you in, and store your meal photos, descriptions, nutrition estimates and goals to provide your diary. Your targets and calibration details, including age, sex, height, weight and activity level, are saved to your account so they can be restored when you reinstall the app. We also process account and device identifiers, notification tokens and basic security logs to run and protect the app. Providing an account and meal details is necessary for these features. We rely on our contract with you to provide the app and our legitimate interests to secure and improve it.

Your meal photos and text are sent to Google Gemini to estimate nutrition, sometimes using Google Search. On supported phones, we also store paired meal photos, camera depth and capture/device details for research into better food estimation. Depth captures are stored separately from the current AI analysis.

Contacts are read on your device with permission. We send only the names and numbers you select, plus saved friend-name updates, to provide Friends. Accepted friends can see your daily totals, goals and check-ins, but not your meal photos or descriptions.

Apple processes subscription payments. RevenueCat receives your Macros account identifier and purchase information to verify your subscription and offer-code access. We store your access status and expiry date in Firebase. We do not receive your payment card details. Deleting your Macros account removes its RevenueCat customer record but does not cancel an Apple subscription. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings; Apple may retain transaction records under its own policies.

Google/Firebase provides sign-in, storage, processing and notifications; Apple delivers iPhone notifications. These providers may process data outside the UK under their applicable data-protection terms and transfer safeguards. Contact us for details. We do not sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

We keep your diary, photos and depth captures until you delete the meal or account. Temporary processing records are scheduled to expire after seven days. Delete account removes your account and associated data; a minimal cleanup record remains for 24 hours. Provider backups and security logs follow their own retention schedules.

You can change camera, contacts and notification permissions in iOS Settings. Email us to request access, a copy, correction or deletion of your data, or to restrict its use. You can also object to processing and complain to the UK Information Commissioner at ico.org.uk.

The landing, terms and privacy pages do not use analytics, advertising trackers or cookies that we set. Firebase Hosting serves these pages and may process technical information, such as network addresses and request details, to deliver and secure the website.

If you email support, we use your email address and the information you provide to answer your request and keep an appropriate record of the issue.
